Google Glass

Apple was yesterday and fighting to be in today. Samsung and his galaxies running the smartness all over the globe. But, this devices are losing their charm with time.
As said by Samsung, the next big thing is here..so what next??
It could be Google Glass, the weird-looking augmented reality-enabled spectacles that the company hopes to sell by the million once it hits the retail markets later this year.
If the Internet buzz is anything to go by, a brand new genre of gadget could be headed to your living room by year end. Google has already said it has finalised its design for the Google Glass.
Google Glass and its not just a glass.
The solution to attract people back to the technology is a wearable glass computer that augments reality as and when one needs it. At other times, well, it is supposed to be a cool looking glass.
Google will need to build an Apps ecosystem surrounding the capabilities of Google Glass for the device to succeed. But it is not hard to see that happen. Already, in its various demos, Google Glass has been shown to be pretty handy with regard to mapping and imaging solutions. Although it would be weird to be in a room full of Google Glass-wearing nerds talking to their glasses: “Glass, do this, etc.” But the answers to that will be known for sure by next year.
Features
1. CameraGoogle Glass has the ability to take photos and record 720p HD video. While video is recording, a recording light is displayed above the eye, which is unnoticeable to the wearer.
2. Navigation
Google Maps can be used by google glass and this device also displays the

weather.
3. Voice Commands
Apple has siri, Samsung has S-Voice and so is Google Glass. It understands
so many different voice commands that can help you save your typing and
time.

Following are some of the featured and activation text.

Record video-----------------------------------------"ok, glass, record a video."
Take picture------------------------------------------ "ok, glass, take a picture.
Start Google+ hangout-------------"ok, glass, hang out with[person/circle]."
Search-----------------------------------------"ok, glass, google [search query]."
Search photos----------------------"ok, glass, google photos of [search query]."
Translate----------------------------------- "ok, glass, say [text] in [language]."
Give directions----------------------"ok, glass, give directions to [search query]."
Send message----------------------"ok, glass, send a message to [name]."
"ok, glass, send [name] that [message]."

                                                   [flight number] depature from [airport]?"

Samsung Galaxy S4 unveiled

If you're looking for Samsung's new Galaxy S4 to define a novel new era of smartphone greatness, it's time to temper your expectations. The brand-new flagship smartphone, which runs the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, improves hardware significantly and it piles on the features. Compared with the extremely successful Galaxy S3 that came before, it's a firm stride forward rather than a giant a leap, but it raises the bar again for Samsung's competitors. And by super-sizing the screen and packing in so much specialized software, the GS4 sets itself even farther apart from the iPhone.
The Galaxy S4 handset steadily draws from the same design language as the S3, but takes almost every spec to an extreme -- the screen is larger (5 inches), the resolution greater (1080p), the battery capacity higher (2,600mAh), the processor faster (1.9GHz quad-core or 1.6GHz octa-core), and the rear-facing camera stuffed with more megapixels (13, to be exact). But, once you've gone through the features checklist (which also includes lots of internal and external storage space and RAM), it's the software extras that Samsung continues to lean on to keep its phones one step ahead of the competition.
The problem is, based on my brief time with the Galaxy S4, very few of the extensive list of enhancements stood out as a killer, must-have, cannot-possibly-live-without feature. The TV control app that works with the IR blaster is perhaps one exception and HTC One also comes with this feature, as are a handy translation tool and eye-tracking and gesture capabilities that allow you to pause a video when you stop paying attention and let you hover your finger over an item to preview what it is.

Google Reader Shutting Down this July

Google Reader is a content application and platform provided by Google that is an aggregator of content served by web feeds. It was created in early 2005 by Google engineer Chris Wetherell and launched on October 7, 2005, through Google Labs.
Google is shutting down its popular RSS Reader as part of a broader "spring cleaning" to concentrate on a smaller selection of services.
In a post on the official blog for Google Reader, software engineer Alan Green cites declining usage and a reshaped focus on fewer products. "We think that kind of focus will make for a better user experience," he says.
Google Reader will shut down July 1, so users have enough time to transition to a new option. Launched in 2005, the RSS Reader allowed users to pull content feeds from a variety of websites into one personal hub.
The move to shut down Reader is part of a larger plan detailed on the company's official blog. Among other services getting shuttered: Google Building Maker, Google Cloud Connect and the voice app for BlackBerry devices.
"It's been a long time since we have had this rate of change — it probably hasn't happened since the birth of personal computing 40 years ago," says Urs Hölzle, Google's senior vice president of technical infrastructure. "To make the most of these opportunities, we need to focus—otherwise we spread ourselves too thin and lack impact."

Iphone 5S to be released with FingerPrint Scanner and NFC

A new report from the China Times claims the iPhone 5S will feature a fingerprint scanner and NFC capabilities. Apple is said to have selected Chipbond as the supplier for the required components; as well as for the device's touch display driver.

Rumors of a fingerprint scanner have been popular of late with KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also predicting last week that the iPhone 5S would offer the feature. The basis behind this prediction is Apple's acquisition of AuthenTec, a provider of mobile and network security solutions, last July.

The NFC rumor has popped up numerous times over the past few years; however, last September Apple SVP Phil Schiller didn't sound promising when speaking about the possibility. It's not clear that NFC is the solution to any current problem, Schiller said. "Passbook does the kinds of things customers need today."

Foxconn has reportedly started production of the iPhone 5S on the same line as the iPhone 5 which suggests minimal changes to the device.

Near field communication (NFC) is a set of standards for smartphones and similar devices to establish radio communication with each other by touching them together or bringing them into close proximity, usually no more than a few centimeters. Present and anticipated applications include contactless transactions, data exchange, and simplified setup of more complex communications such as Wi-Fi. Communication is also possible between an NFC device and an unpowered NFC chip called a "tag".

Samsung's New Latest Eye-Tracking Technology

Eye-tracking uses the camera to lock onto the motion of a user's peepers, following wherever they move. With it, the phone can perceive where the user is looking, and can respond to a set of behaviors, let's say a very intentional movement to scroll a Web page up and down, or a long, purposeful blink to click.
If your eyes have reached the bottom of a page, eye-tracking software could automatically scroll you down the following paragraphs of text.
This type of technology -- which had been researched for desktop computing long before it was conceived of for the smaller smartphone screen -- has been demoed for a variety of actions: zooming in or out, pausing a video by looking away from a screen, and playing games.
